On November 23^rd Officers with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a medical call on Hickory Nut Gap Rd.

  Avery medics also responded to the location.  A male subject at the call location was checked out by Avery medics and was found not to need medical attention.  Officers with the Sheriff’s Office found that twenty four year old Bret Bond had a warrant for a felony probation violation in Watauga County.  Bond was taken to the Avery County Jail where a $20,000.00 bond was set for his release. 

                              CRIMESTOPPERS REPORT

On November 26^th, 2011 Officers with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office investigated a break-in at a residence on Beech Mountain Rd in Elk Park.  Several items were taken from the home on Beech Mountain Rd and a small white car was seen in the area at the time of the break-in.  Anyone with information about this crime or any other unsolved crime is requested to call the Avery County Sheriff’s Office at 828-733-2071 or the High Country Crime Stoppers at 828-737-01325.
